One at the National World War II Museum in New Orleans, consisting of 210,000 images of fragile wartime personal accounts. The second project was also on location at the University of Michigan and Michigan State University. This was a collection on the history of food and drink held over 125,000 images IDI digitized from books, both bound and loose, manuscript, foldouts as well as 3D object photography. IDI in October also completed a 312,000 image project for Princeton University which included a Women’s World Banking Collection, the John Dulles Papers, and the James Forrestal Papers. The October 17th IDI seminar which featured an excellent presentation by Laura Hortz Stanton from the Conservation Center for Art & Historic Artifacts was a hit. The lucky winner of a brand new laptop computer was Jill Stafford of the Matawan Aberdeen Public Library. (pictured above) Thank you to everyone that attended. IDI’s Connecticut facility now has the capability to produce the highest quality possible microfilm and microfiche from digital images at very competitive prices. Check out our new operation at: ebeamfilm.com. The New Jersey State library has listed in one location all of IDI’s NJ DigiFind-It local history web portals at: libguides.njstatelib.org/digitized-newspapers. This site lists newspapers by county and town and indicates which are available only in the library and which ones are available online for open access. |
