IDI Launches New Website
Innovative Document Imaging relaunched its Website this week. The site features a fresh new design and highlights IDI’s mission to provide the best service possible at a reasonable cost for document imaging and document management solutions. See the new site at www.idiimage.com.
Innovative Spotlight: National Geographic Society
Last month, Innovative Document Imaging worked on the digitization of an extremely valuable collection for the National Geographic Society in Washington, DC. To handle the project, IDI deployed Kirtas book scanners. However, the Society’s librarians expressed concern that the auto page turning of the Kirtas scanners might damage the collection in some way. “Once we demonstrated that the Kirtas was more gentle on the page than a human hand, they preferred that the pages be turned automatically,” said IDI President, Marty Tannenbaum. With their fears allayed, the project proceeded without a hitch. “The Society’s personnel were delighted at how smoothly the scanning went for their collection,” Tannenbaum added.
Innovative Solutions: Princeton University Press
This month, IDI is set to complete the scanning of every book published by the Princeton University Press since the 1800s. The project comprises some 6,000 of the Press’ volumes in all. IDI is delivering Print-onDemand images
