Innovative Spotlight: United Way of Greater Union

The United Way of Greater Union County believes stronger families mean stronger communities. The organization works with state agencies and private foundations to help improve the educational, financial and health outlook for New Jersey families.

About 2 and a half years ago, during a remodeling project of the United Way building in Elizabeth, Innovative Document Imaging digitized 500,000 pages of pledge information, board minutes, bank reconciliation, AP vouchers, HR files and payroll reports for the agency. “We reduced the space for files needed to remain compliant, for Sarbanes-Oxley, etc., says Rochelle Green, Vice President of Finance and Administration for United Way of Greater Union.

IDI was able to clear 92% of the floor space taken up by the files. What had been a group of file cabinets was now a set of DVD disks. Files are now scanned on an annual basis to keep storage requirements at a minimum. Information retrieval is easier, as is backup and disaster recovery.

It is “excellent working with IDI,” notes Green. “They do a good job. The files are readable and returned promptly. We look forward to continuing our work with them,” she says.

Spring looks to be as busy as winter at IDI!

Innovative Document Imaging is hiring an additional 3 employees in May to assist with lab book administration for a major pharmaceutical corporation in California.

To keep up with the demand for high quality film digitization, IDI has acquired and set up new 8mm digital scanning equipment. The new units are fast, efficient, and provide exceptional digital output even from older or marginal quality film.
